Mechanism

Who it's for
Adults with pattern hair loss who want one nightly step instead of a stack of separate products.

What it does

  • DHT blockade, more completely
Finasteride blocks the Type II 5α-reductase enzyme; dutasteride blocks both Type I and Type II. Together they suppress DHT more completely than either alone.
  • Follicle vascularization
Minoxidil widens vessels around the follicle and extends the growth phase. The active ingredient in the retail topical, dosed alongside the DHT blockers.
  • Better absorption
Tretinoin at low concentration improves scalp penetration of the other agents and supports cell turnover.
  • Calmer scalp
Ketoconazole controls the low-grade inflammation that shortens the follicle growth phase and accelerates shedding.

How it works

Pattern hair loss has three tractable levers: androgen exposure at the follicle (DHT), vascular support around the follicle, and inflammation on the scalp. Retail products address one at a time. This compounded solution addresses all three in a single nightly step. Applied to a clean, dry scalp; give the combination 3 to 6 months before evaluating density change.
